my parents began farming (traditional, small-ish dairy cow farm) with my grandparents about a year after they were married. they farmed for ~8 years and my dad decided, for a number of reasons, that he didn't want to farm... no, he was going to school again to become a lawyer. now he goes to his nice office and does real estate all day and he's ( Read more... )

I've never been, but there are scholarships and volunteering options (the latter of which I'll be doing) to make it more possible monetarily.

I'm glad you seem to have found what you want to do =) good luck with it

but be careful not to become dogmatic. I know it isn't like you, but it's a good precaution to have. despite a hundred signs pointing towards your "destiny", you may one day find the largest sign of all pointing in some other direction, and it may be important to pay heed to that one

well I have faith that you'll pick the right course. it is the task of all of us to improve this world, and please believe me when I say I am eager to see your results. it is our generation's missive, if you will, to correct the mistakes of our elders, and I am sure we will see it through

thanks for the reminder. it does feel like i've found "it", but i need to experience it more before i can say anything with certainty, and even then i know it could change down the road. it's good to hear this from other people too. it's one thing to follow my internal compass and another to have external affirmation/advice ( ... )
