Wow. Just...wow. I don't understand the appeal, I just don't get it. People are getting stupider. That's the only way I can explain it. I have no cultural analysis, just that.

Yeah, that's pretty much right on the money. I don't care if you're addicted to it. I can even see the appeal (I remember in the ninth grade when we all got addicted to reading those cheesy romance novels). What really bothers me is the people who think this is good storytelling, that this is good literature. What the hell are they teaching in schools now that people - including English teachers - think that? It's decent as a mindless read (and dear God, let me tell you I needed one), if you can deal with static characters getting on your nerves, but don't lie to yourself and say it's "good." Ugh!

This was an amazing rant to read through!! I myself fucking hate the dialogues and excessive adjectives in the Smeyer prose. She makes everything in her story about Bella and Edward frolicking and sparkling...and so her writing just ends up rotten!

Thanks!! Ugh, yeah, the dialogue is just idiotic. It's like SMeyer has never held a conversation with anyone before. Who speaks like that?! Especially teenagers! And I'm not even sure the word "excessive" covers the adjectives. I mean really, I'm on New Moon now and I GET IT, HE HAS ICY LIPS!!! Good grief!

Thanks! Hahaha, oh man. I made it thorough this one pretty easily. But I almost threw my iPod (reading this ebook style because any other way is a little too embarrassing for my taste) across the room trying to get through the beginning of New Moon this morning. Bella gets freaking WORSE! I have never heard of anyone throwing a tantrum because people have the nerve to be happy she was born and want to celebrate her birthday. I think Edward left because he didn't want to actually backhand the bitch (like I do).

Thank you!

Have you read New Moon yet? The italics problem is actually worse! Especially the fact that every usage of the word "get" is italicized for some reason. WHY IS THAT?!

Hah, don't be ashamed. I'm in the middle of reading them all now, and I know better! It's nice to know that Twihards can be converted though!

I feel being an editor is such a B.S. job, because so many books come out with such huge, glaring errors. I mean, really, all of the Harry Potters had massive errors that should have been caught in editing. But this, I mean, really, what the hell is with the italics?? It's actually sort of making me violent now. Thankfully they don't translate as well to Stanza on the iPod, so I really only see it when I'm reading the pdf on the computer.

Yes, I'm the only person you know who got obsessed with Twilight for how God awful it is.

You are not the only one.

Hilarious review.
