Holy Shnikes what a night

So the concert...WOW. Ok, let me start from the very beginning though.

We got to the Bowery Ballroom around 4:30. There were only like 8 other people there already, Rob included. So I introduced myself to Rob since we had been talking online for a while, then we sat in our place in line and chatted with the people around us. So, we're sitting there with everyone, and all of a sudden I hear a "Hey guys, how are you?" I look up, and it's Chris. It didn't register at first with any of us, it was so quick, we just sat there. We were all talking when he was walking toward us, and didn't notice him, we were in the middle of a conversation, and then he said hey, and it must have been the funniest sight for him, because I swear, all of our jaws dropped and none of us said a word. So we're all still sitting there like "where did he come from?" after he had gone inside. He was doing his soundcheck, and we could hear him, so we were all sitting there singing along. People walking by were like staring at us and stuff. Oh...and I forgot one thing. My sister, while all of us are still sitting there like "okay he just totally caught us of guard" and trying to figure out what had happened, well, she turns to me and says "Who was that?" We all just started dying laughing. It was funny. But anyway, So I made some new friends by just being a complete dork as usual...We were telling people that it was a Simon and Garfunkel concert...then it escaladed into Menudo and such. We had some good laughs.

Let me tell you, I have so much respect for Chris after tonight. I was amazed at how humble and down to earth he is. I heard all the stories about how he is, but you never quite understand how true it is until you have the opportunity to see it with your own eyes.

We're still waiting to get in, and he walks out and gets into a cab. I was like "more points for Chris."

Finally, we get in and they make us wait downstairs for a while, then we finally get upstairs, and we got AMAZING places. We were right in front. It was great. Opening act was New Amsterdams. They freakin rock. The one guy made a comment about how he was old, and then went on to say that he was 26. Well, I had had a beer, and yes, I'm a lightweight. So I yell "Thanks, you're making me feel old!" Well, the other guy in the band was piss drunk, and he was like "Way to make the audience feel bad." Not in those exact words, but it was funny.

Anywho, onto Chris. He comes out, and It was just...wow. Everyone was singing so damn loud I don't think I heard HIS voice until maybe the 4th song. But I continued being silly, and yelled "TAKE IT ALL OFF" during one of the breaks. He looked over at me and said something like "Come on, it took me a while to put this outfit together." Everyone was laughing. Then, later, continuing the joke from outside... (I had told I was going to ask him to play a Simon and Garfunkle song...) I screamed "SOUND OF SILENCE" when everyone was making requests. He kind of did a double take, and the guy that I had told it was a Simon and Garfunkle concert to started dying.

More stupidness...Some girl screamed out "CHRIS I WANT TO HAVE YOUR BABY!" So I yelled "Chris you can have my baby." The girl next to me obviously didn't understand it was a joke, because she turned and said "Shh he's right in front of you" I was like "that's the point." But it was a great night...he was funny as hell, and the sweetest guy. He had a set list, but he played extra songs because we were so into it. At one point he said "I'm going to play extra, is that cool? Are you guys in it for the long haul?" It was amazing. (Yes I'm still excited...can you tell?) But I guess last night, he didn't do an encore because he hasn't done a show by himself in a while and he was a nervous boy, but tonight...tonight he did and encore. And guess what he did. Some girl was on the phone with her friend, and she held the phone up. He took it and talked to the girl on the other end...had us all say hi and carried on about a two minute convo with her. It was the sweetest thing. Everyone in the audience was like "Aww." But he told us to say hi and everything. And being the ass I am, after a few minutes I screamed "call waiting." So, sorry to the girl on the phone, I just got caught up in the moment.

I had the best fucking time. It was the best concert I have ever been to. It may not have been the best concert when it comes to vocal performance, or music, or choreography and visual effects, but the experience...wow. It's something special. It was like you could just be you, and forget everything while you were there and just let it all hang out, and everyone in there was a friend.

Yes, I'm still on a high. Missy and Lee are sound asleep, and I'm too damn excited to sleep, so I spent more money and got the internet so I could write about it. How sad am I?

OH! And I got a job! This trip has turned out to be the best thing that's happened to me in like 2 years. I'll write more about the job later, but for now, I'm afraid the sound of the keys might wake them up. So goodnight.
