Television: Spartacus

I finished watching Spartacus and I'm not sure I've ever had a more satisfying television-series experience in my life.

Spartacus is not my bag, but Mr. Deknight is an amazing storyteller, and very deserving of his success.

Yeah, the storytelling was very impressive.

...I accidentally gave my mom nightmares once, though, when she came over and caught a glimpse of the show. It was the screaming, she said. So, it's definitely not for everyone.

The television critic Maureen (Mo) Ryan, who is as fannish as you can be without actually being in fandom, has done some writing about the show, and her podcast Talking TV with Ryan and Ryan (with Ryan McGee) also discussed the show a number of times. I haven't gotten around to watching it yet, but it certainly made me want to!

I would definitely recommend Spartacus, though if you have a low tolerance for on-screen violence then maybe not so much.
