We need to buy a new vaccum for the office and for home.  I've been pining over a Dyson but have no idea which model is best.  Anybody have one that would like to share good and bad?

We have just the basic model (don't remember what it's called) and we love it. Like others have said, you will be amazed what it can pick up, even on carpet that has just been vaccummed by some other brand of vac. Worth every penny IMO!

We LOVE ours as well! If you have animals, get the animal, all my friends with pets swear by that. If not, one of the regular models is fine and you will be shocked by how much you vaccuum up the first couple of times, wow!

We bought the DC17, the new full-size upright model, a few months ago. It is crazy, but I really LOVE vacuuming now, and I absolutely hated it before. I'm still ending up with a tank full after one to two rooms, but I consider that a good thing b/c it's obviously getting the house much cleaner

We also have the purple one and love it! I would highly recomend any Dyson.

We have the Animal, and though it works super well, it is HEAVY! Something to keep in mind if you'll be lugging it up and down stairs.
