Ok, well, I finally, *finally* saw The Marine today. I was ordered the dvd for my birthday and it came today. It was ok, I guess...not what I was expecting - at all. I don't wanna pick at it because I love John so damned much, but there were a lot of discrepancies in the movie. It was supposed to have taken place in South Carolina, in what we call

Here's a dumb question: if the movie was supposed to be taking place in South Carolina, why not *shoot* it in South Carolina

Because some states have high taxes on shoting movies in places, and the especially since this was from the WWE who is cheap- they don't want to pay those taxes so they go somewhere where there are no taxes which is why a lot of movies get shot around New Orleans area because of no taxes=]

The taxes can't be too awfully high. There's a lot of movies that get shot in this state. The Abyss was shot here. Sleeping With The Enemy was shot here. George Clooney's new movie is being shot here now.

Really in the end it all comes down to money...shooting a movie in Australia-an action movie like this-'only' cost around 15 mil...if it was shot in the states...it would easily be 40/50 mil. That's taxes, permits, OSHA regs...etc etc. In the end they would have lost money because sadly this movie didn't do so well at the box office

oooh woman...did you see the WWE mag with his interview in it? He does mention that he shaves the hair off of *all* his body...lol...If I didn't think he was hot before, that definitely caught my interest!!!

Yeah, I read that. I was like, 'fuck, that's hot', then he started talking about odor and stuff...then I was like, 'eww'...lol
