wow, it's been a while since you've written a journal entry. i was actually surprised to see it. ;)

i'm proud of mr. lau lau for signing up to help with forecasting the weather down there. tell him i said that 'cause it's more than what i can say for myself. it just sickens me to hear everyone complaining about whose fault it is for the slow response.

I totally understand how you feel. Katrina and after the Tsunami in Bangkok last year, I went through all those emotions. I'm not sure if you knew, but natural disasters have been my biggest fear. What will the people of Hawaii do when a hurricane that strong approach us? How do we survive? Seeing the victims of Katrina just devastates me. It's hurts me to watch the news about it. I mean, those 4 hurricanes close to Hawaii made me feel terrible. Everday I watched the news to see what's going and whether a hurricane will hit. There was Norma, Jovah, Lidia, and Max to watch out for in Hawaii. I'm so thankful that all four of the hurricanes died down before it was close to Hawaii. I think that I'll always be afraid when it comes to hurricane season because people always say that a hurricane hits the hawaiian island every 10 years. 1982 was hurricane eva, 1993 was hurrican iniki (that no one was aware of, it hit a low pressure system and rerouted toward Kauai) and it just seems like one is coming to hit us soon. = (
