Airawyn's been annoyed/pissed by the recent developments in the new Red Hood & The Outlaws all week. I'm getting vicariously annoyed, because I've only seen the panels that most gratuitously exploit Starfire

Aww, thanks. I'm feeling so sorry for J'onn right now. I wasn't sure the mirroring of tropes and assumptions worked, and I tried to keep it slightly humorous too, but... *HUGS HIM* His life is painful and difficult!

So yeah, why wouldn't this be equally sad for Starfire? And I ended up disliking some of my favorite females in this story; why is it so hard to understand wanting to smack Roy and Jason for behaving the same way?

And yes I saw it and it was freaking brilliantly explained. HUGE DUH, PEOPLE. Little girls would have loved to buy more Starfire stuff, but as that one blogger with a 7-year-old pointed out, they have to actually do things. Not just look pretty. (Much less the rest of it.)

I could have left it as J'onn getting gratuitous random sex, but that's apparently a guy's *dream*. Or something. Reversing the polarity and making him want an emotional connection that's not there seemed more... equal. Somehow.
