Earworm

I saw a posting on FB that had the words Mrs. Rudy in it which triggered my memory into thinking about a country song from 2001 by Mark McGuinn called Mrs. Steven Rudy.  Looks like it was also done in 2009 by Rascal Flatts.  Can't find a link to the video from Rascal Flatts and the actual video by Mark McGuinn stinks so I am not linking to it ( Read more... )

I can't believe you knew the song! Nobody ever knows the country stuff I like. Then again, I've been listening to it since I was a kid. Love it, wish there was a country station here. I get my fixes through CMT and Pandora.

I've never heard this song, that I can remember.

I enjoy country music, but mostly the '80's and '90's stuff. I think the '90's was a great decade for country music.

NJ doesn't have country station?!

No, sadly NJ and NY by me don't have a country station. I grew up listening to the Statler Brothers, The Oakridge Boys, Barbara Mandrell, Kenny Rogers. Love Alabama and Garth. I like some of the new stuff too. I really like the songs that tell stories. George Strait's The Chair, Garth's songs, Lorrie Morgan's Something in Red, Tim McGraw's Don't Take the Girl. Colin Raye - love him. The list goes on. Sadly the only place I hear those songs is on the digital music from our cable company. They have a station called True Country. Mostly stuff from the 80s and 90s but some from the 70s thrown in. My kinda music!

I remember this song, and as far as I know, it was a "one-hit-wonder" from Mark. I can't think of ever hearing his name again. I used to enjoy the catchy, upbeat-ness of this song, and I had it in our music collection. After the affairs, however, this is one I now regret ever liking at all.

Nicole - I'm sorry, I never thought of it that way since I just loved the catchyness of it too. I guess in my naive way of thinking he was just daydreaming about her but not acting upon it. I'm sorry if this hurt you in any way.

Oh, don't worry yourself, Ilene. Really. It was a fun song back in the day, and there are a LOT of songs that have changed for me. ;-)
