Kids finished school on Monday.  I was able to be there for dismissal at 1:15 because my awesome boss let me go 15 minutes early. I was only working until 1 because I am working Saturday and needed to take some comp time. Our school doesn't have a graduation ceremony for 5th graders which I totally agree with but instead they "clap" them out.  What

WME where we moved from, did the clap out. I got to clap for Jessica when she finished ES. I cried.

Is it wrong that I long for the day I can leave the kids home alone for a few hours? I leave the older two (Emma's now 9 and Alastair's 6) home when I walk to pick Evie up from daycare, they hate the walk & it adds so much extra time to drag them with me - on my own it's less than 10 minutes there, about 10 minutes back with Evie on her scooter. But like today I'm stuck because I have to go to a work thing from 5-7pm (normally I finish at 2pm) but Garry has a meeting until 5.30pm, so I will have to pick the kids up from school, come home, take the kids into his office & go to my thing a little late. If only I could just leave them home from 4.30-6!!

No, I don't think that is awful at all. It certainly makes life easier.

It was a fairly cool day yesterday (70's) but we're gonna hit the 90's again tomorrow. Here we have continuation ceremonies for sixth graders (middle school is just 7th and 8th grade, which is weird). I like the clapping out a LOT better. :)
