Moments to hold onto

Last night was Simchat Torah.  I was honestly going to blow off services because it being Monday we had Karate.  I felt badly because I had already missed two weeks of Karate and am going to be missing heaps more and didn't want to miss last night too.  Hannah remembered that it was Simchat Torah and asked if we were going to services.  Cue the ( Read more... )

Hannah is turning into such a beautiful young lady -- our girls are growing way too fast, aren't they? *sigh*

Congratulations to Hannah for getting to carry the Torah, and to you for being called up and given the Aliyah. I read the info about the Aliyah and in doing so I have a question: how often can you be called up to receive it? I hope I didn't skip over the answer, and I apologize if I did! ;)

When will Hannah be eligible to become a Bat Mitzvah? That will be an exciting day for sure!

*HUGS*

Thank you Deanna. They are growing up so fast. Don't apologize for asking questions. There is no limit, you can be called up to the Torah every time there is a Torah service. There is one on Shabbat and several other times during the week.

Hannah is technically eligible for her Bat Mitzvah at 12 but in our Synagogue girls are customarily Bat Mitzvahed at 13 like the boys.

Congrats to Hannah on getting to carry the Torah.

My son Tim loves going to services with his Messianic Jewish friend, Danny. I know that you are not Messianic. There are a lot of Jewish activities that take place during their services.
