When she was a little girl she was told that women were supposed to be fragile and gentle, little angels walking the earth. They weren’t to play rough, they weren’t to travel too far or disobey their parents. They were the beauty to this world; they were the dancers of sunshine.
She always wondered if she disappointed her father when she learned to fight, wondered if he wanted her to be one of those fragile girls who needed their hands held at every turn, that looked down at their feet shyly when talking to men.
She knew, later on in life, that what she had been told was wrong: women weren’t fragile, weren’t weak. She would lay there, the ninja’s calloused hands trailing across her flash, her skilled fingers gently probing her, bringing ragged breaths from the barmaid’s slightly parted lips. She knew when that girl’s head would vanish between her legs, that women weren’t fragile or gentle at all.
They were strong and fierce.
