woah your boss sounds like an asshole, treating you like a small child and chastizing you instead of talking to you like an adult and equal. i know it'd suck to be fired (been there, done that), but maybe it's better if you're away from toxic ppl like that.

can't give you any travel advice about those places, sorry. i'm only an expert on dublin, melbourne and chicago. sad, i know. totally jealous of your NYC jaunt.

for the most part i like my boss you know... lawyers are quite eccentric, I've learnt. He means well but he can also be the most infuriating person alive. Still don't know how things will go. see below re: broken fridge.

If you end up in Paris, I could probably try to come up with places you may not have been before.. I dunno.
As for Spain, BARCELONA!! I'm seriously considering going there in January even though I need to save up to buy myself a tiny little car.

I was worried about my own job last week. :(
I told a client that material was in a warehouse in Chicago and it was actually in Ohio, which eventually caused us to lower the price and lose at least $1000.
I also sent important faxes in the wrong order. It wouldn't have been a problem if my boss had been in the office, but he's been out a lot and we have to communicate via email. boo

Oh, I'm def going to Paris! It's the major object of the trip. Go there and speak/learn as much French as possible. I just don't know how long for, probably four weeks all up, but maybe with Spain in between, or maybe Spain at the end. Either way I'll be in Barcelona is January as well. Have you been to Spain before? I'm probably just gonna do Catalunya area so as not to get too far from France, because I have to fly from Paris to London.

Ahh, aren't office jobs just torture for the creative personality? You try and try but... absentmindedness and dreams of better, more creative things just get the better of you...

So please, DO tell me what to do in Paris! I'd like to get to know it intimately. I need opportunities to speak French to people.

it sucks especially when you're trying hard as well and then it feels like a bit of a smack to the face.

hi sweet, how are you?
Won't know my fate until next week. On top of everything I have broken the fridge. I didn't knoow it was commmon knowledge that you're not meant to defrost the freezer with an icepick. Apparently it is. Had I known, I wouldn't have done so and burst the gas thingy, thus breaking the whole fridge. Everyone has conspired to lie with me, but another dimension has now been added to my mess!! It SHOULD be ok..
