I set my alarm today, not because I needed to, but because I wanted to remeber what morning felt like. I contested, however, and didn't get out of bed for another 40 minutes

I set my alarm this morning and I contested too. I'm slapping myself for it, too, because I need to apply for Quebec health insurance and the line-ups are so crazy that it is pointless to be there after 11am. So now I have to wait until the new year--all out of my laziness.
It must be hard to have a birthday in the shadow of New Year's celebrations. Fortunately most of my NYE celebrations have been unmemorable (except for the roadtrip to California/Nevada in 2000) so I can't assume that this year will be different. Are you interested in seeing the River's & Mountains show with me and Graham and co.? Okay, I digress, per usual. I'll be walking around Jean-Talon today and I'll do my best to help with some ideas.
I made vanilla yoghurt/raspberry muffins last night and that's what I had for breakfast this morning. I think I'm gonna go pour me a bowl of cereal in addition to that.
Yeah, I may just go to the Rivers and Mountains show. Dunno. It is $10, though, although I imagine it'll be going on a while after midnight anyway. Your muffins sound delish!
Yes! I was gonna call you about that (I'll still call you) I'm still not done the drawings, and hope to do some tonight. Even if I don't get all the printing/binding done tomorrow, I still want to set aside the day to make the book.
Your friends have exciting breakfasts! Me, I ate some sour cherry candies and an extra large coffee.
Also, I totally get what you mean about trying to inject your workplace with some humanity. I find brightly coloured post-it notes also help, and singing children's songs to yourself. My favourite this week is the one that goes: "I am slowly going crazy 1 - 2 -3 - 4 - 5 -6 switch. Crazy going slowly am I 6 -5 -4 -3 -2- 1 switch."
I tried to sing that with one of my classes last year, with no success. Funny that my job now is pretty much the opposite of what I was doing before. The blindfolded treasure hunts have disappeared and have been replaced by internal emails from "team managers". Uck.
