Hey Taryn, I'm really sorry to hear about how hurt you were by one person's opinion. From how I see it, I think that this person is the ignorant one in the situation, not you. Democrats pride themselves on being open-minded and tolerant, and bashing someone else for their political views makes them ignorant, rude, and, frankly, dumb. Just because someone else doesn't agree with you doesn't make them stupid...I voted for Kerry, and I consider myself to be a very, very strong Democrat (I'm pretty much the most far-left liberal person I know). But I have just as much respect for Republicans as I do for Democrats, because that's only what's just.

I don't believe that you are over-reacting, and I definitely don't believe that you are stupid. You have the sensibility and the intelligence to survey your political options and choose a candidate who you believe best fits your agenda. Not everyone does that...a lot of people vote for stupid / naive reasons, and a lot of people don't even vote at all. The best thing you can do to honor ( ... )

CA is hardcore democratic. the few friends i have who voted Bush yesterday were really harassed all day. by the end of the day, my friend Meg looked at people at a club meeting and said "don't even mention politics in my presence".

everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

i voted Rep on every other thing except the presidential bit. i hear ya.

I understand how you feel taryn. Most people our age are democratic, and though people are entitled to their own opinions, they often come out too forceful with them. People are wrong to do that. But I'm glad Bush won so yay for that!!!
Love ya babe!
