Hi there:)That teacher made a serious mistake. A twelve year old child should not see any R rated movie without their parent's permission...period. I have to give permission for my son's picture to be taken at school and would certainly expect to be notified of her plans, thereby, allowing me to express my reservations. The teacher did a stupid thing and should be reprimanded

I know what you mean. I have to give permission for everything. I have to give permission to give permission.

I just don't think this movie is for any 12 yr old kid, with or without permission. This isn't a kiddie movie. We're talking about things that the majority of them won't understand.

Why was it so important to this teacher to show this movie? What was she trying to convey to the kids?

I don't know. She did a bad bad thing.

I like the way you put it, she did a bad bad thing; no one will support her decision.
What was she thinking?

I still can't quite believe the teacher showed this film to 12 year old kiddos It has an "R" rating. An "R" rating means no one under 17 can be admitted unless accompanied by either a parent or a person over 17.
What that teacher did doesn't compute...yet. Parents should all ways be notified beforehand if a teacher plans to show any material of that rating to a class. Too bad for the teacher
