I was just talking about Danielle to a good RL friend of mine because he suddenly lost a longtime online friend as well, and we were discussing how people we only know from sharing journals and the like over the years can really have an impact on our lives.

I don't make a big deal about it, but I miss her too and often think of her.

In real life you lose someone and everyone comes together. Online can be isolated, it is harder to know who someone interacted with.

I just lost a friend of 11 years to a sudden heart attack. He was only 39. A few months older than myself.

This only gets harder to bear as time goes by.
