What does that mean to you?  According to the intelligent (no, he really was, just not on this particular issue) federal agent I was talking to last night, it means that the Canadian dollar is worth more than the U.S. dollar.  Huh?  Now I don't mean to be rude, but I am, so I say something like, "are you fucking kidding me!??"  He goes on to ( Read more... )

What, isn't it like a billion units of Zimbabwean currency to equal one dollar?

They must be doing great! ;)

No, the matter is that the Canadian dollar used to be worth about half as much as a US dollar. It was roughly 2 Canadian to 1 American. That was nice. Now there's near parity, which means our Chinese-backed dollars suuuuuuuck.

Your federale knows of what he speaks, but he's confused as far as the stats, or as to reading them. But then, that's your US education system for ya.

Yeah, now that I definitely got (about the Canadian dollar catching up to the U.S. dollar). And I think that was more what he was wanting to discuss, but didn't. I was amused though because he kept insisting that while he appreciated my effort I was simply mixed up. It was cute.

Question...was the Canadian dollar worth more than the U.S. dollar at some point in the past year?
