My current obsessions...

Feb 25, 2010 22:30

There are four...

Here's the first. It's One Water... which is trying to gain fans on Facebook to secure a $5000 donation. Although really it's to secure that level of exposure and support so that major retailers will recognize them as a brand worth stocking.

I am part of an award winning 'not for profit' company called Global Ethics Ltd, the people behind One Water. We are recognised as a leading social enterprise: so this is a genuine case for good.

We have a goal of getting 250,000 subscribers to our Facebook fan page by the end of February. It's a tough call but I'm sure with 'people power' it's possible.

The 250,000 supporters will open doors for us in the big retailers... the more people stocking One products, the more sales we make and the more donation we can give. So far we have donated more than £3.5m and changed the lives for the better of more than 1,000,000 people.

Not only that, Paul Robinson, Trustee of the One Foundation, the charity behind our business, has offered up $5000 of his own money when we hit the target. $5000 contributes around 3,600,000 clean water days. So each fan effectively contributes 14 clean water days when they sign-up.

We'd love for you to help us hit this target.

And, we'd love that you help to pass the message on through LinkedIn and other networks and contacts.

This is the link to our page. 5 seconds to click = 14 clean water days! Thank you.

Thanks and kind regards,

By my count every current fan needs to get 13.4 other people to fan One Difference in order to meet the target. So please do invite your friends as well.

They're so far from the total that they need! It makes me sad! Fan them to make me happy!

Also, I only know about this because the David Tennant tweeter account publicized it. So Doctor Who says you must!

Second is this... Liberty's Campaign for Online Justice which is about legislation currently being considered around copyright infringement. Most sinisterly, I think, at this point the legislation provides powers so that 'a household’s internet access could be cut off by for “any consideration”, be that copyright infringement or not.'

This is either something you're interested in or not. No Time Lord orders on this one.

Third is that I've been challenged to do the 365 Photograph challenge. That's one photo a day for a year... which is proving difficult because I don't do something worth photographing every day. Also because the man I love believes that his soul will be stolen should I photograph him too often.

Hence the pictures on Facebook.

Sorry.

And finally, the fourth one is that Luke and I may well be buying a house together. Which is something of an escalation from the plan *last* week (renting together). It's exciting.

And terrifying.

Also means I might be getting a cat!

Check out http://itmademyday.com/ because it makes me smile.
