OY, What a Weekend!

Can I just tell you how GLAD I am that last week is OVER?!

The refi went swell. I'll be getting a check some time this week. The gigs were okay, but very strenous. My body is still recovering. Carla sang fairly decently, but Mike and I covered the brunt of the performances. Our voices were shot by the end. I sure hope that's not the start ( Read more... )

I'm wondering if I should shower and get ready for work first.

I would - the turnout is going to be real high this year, plus there is usually a fairly good crush with the before work crowd.

Yeah, I think you're right.

I have this fluttery, excited/nervous feeling about the election. It's really strange. :)

I'm not sure how crowded they will be on the actual election day. I'm voting at 6 am in Chicago as I've done for the past five years. I've never had to wait longer than 3 minutes for them to find my name. The reason we are seeing all these lines on TV is that only certain polling places are early polling places. For example, for one entire county in FL, there is only one early polling place. When it comes to actual election day, all the district polling places are open so each country has 6 or 10 places open at the very least. Add to that the fact that VA (and IL for that matter) are not really expected to be boarderline states by any means. So I think you'll be fine. It should not take you 2.5 hours at all. 6 am is damn early for most of the world (which is partly why I like it).

I lucked out today. Arrived at 5:30, voted, got outta there by 6:15. When I left, though, the line to vote was way out the door! I was smart to go early. :)

How are you feeling?
