damn it I'm so jealous!! of the ticket price only, I'm going to visit aboysown in japan sometime in late summer. (dates are unconfirmed for now) but yeah, ticket price is gonna be about double that for me.

And if it turns out to be around the same time we're all getting together cause it's hysterical how close we come to actually meeting when we travel. (germany, canada now japan)

(don't know if you remember him from the wls comm too)

It means... hello is anybody there? Used just not just on the phone but if you were in a dark room and wanting to see who else was there.

hey dude! I just got back from Osaka, If I was you I would brush up on your japanese as although they know how to speak english not many of them do and are very nervous about speaking it. Tokyo a lot more people speak english freely but in Osaka it's much much less. There is not much english signage either.

Check out K's house (google it) for back packers. Best place to stay in Tokyo and Kyoto (Kyoto is not far from Osaka and a must see if you are in Japan)! and J-hoppers in Hiroshima. Look into getting a 7 day Japan rail pass which will also save you around $500 (it costs about 300) if you want to travel around a bit.

Good luck and have fun!

yeah, thinking about doing a short course on japanese now, like what im doing with french ... its just a thought, but im deff going to get a book which has phrases and what not.

yeah, deff looking into the japan rail pass, and its prefect cause there is a 21 day pass.

so what would you recommend on seeing ? already planning mount fuji, tokyo for a week, osaka, kyoto, hiroshima and still got a couple of days to spare ...
