Thanks for the tip. Heh, spoken from experience huh? ;) We've shopped around for wedding bands and narrowed it down to a couple liao. Yah, must definitely factor in lead-time for customisation and delivery.
Anyone who loves "hoe si fatt choy" is definitely a friend of mine! :) Awww babe, do you come home to visit sometimes?
Heh, thanks! We decided to ROM ahead of the actual church wedding and dinner ... which wasn't original plan. I guess living together overseas these past months convinced us to take the step sooner! ;)
Been 2 years since I went back. I normally go back once a year but my parents were here a few months back, so I didn't make my usual trip home last year. Hoping to make a trip home soon!
It's great that you guys have had the chance to reassure yourselves before taking this step. Looking forward to hear more on your preparations. Should be fun, aye? Haha!
It's not easy getting food stuff into Aussieland, otherwise your mom could bring with her the right ingredients and make you "hoe si fatt choi" the next time she's down under. :) Is Aussieland home now or are you on assignment (studying?) there?
We didn't actually plan to have a "test drive" prior to marriage, but the opportunity came up for me to be posted overseas and J loved the idea of taking a sabbatical from work, so we decided to go for it. But you're right, it confirmed what I'd long suspected living with J would be like and it was indeed reassuring for the both of us.
Oh man, just thinking about the preparations ahead is making me tired liao. Hahaha!
Heh, I was quite sure you'll want one too. :) Erm, check out this other horny mutt!
Erm, no meh? Maybe it's some kinda sea moss ... who knows boy! Heh, but its human hair appearance puts a lot of people off. My sis loves it too, but my bro refuses to touch "pubic hair". Hahaha!
And I recall reading a couple of years back that due to the nature of its growth and collection, real fat choy is getting very scarce and may disappear completely in a matter of years... And there are a lot of fake "pubic hair" nowadays (hopefully they didn't use real pubic hair :P)
Ooops, I forgot to warn you! But the sound effects damn solid huh? Hahaha!
WTH is cyanobacterium? Sounds disgusting ... and yeah, I did read somewhere that fatt choy can be bad for health, but you'll have to consume it daily and in large quantities. I only have "pubic hair" during CNY lah. Actually, I have no idea if it's real or fake ones, but tasted nice. *beams contentedly*
Oh yah, I forgot to mention the fish maw my mom puts in the soup. YUMZ!!! Another one of my fave CNY food! :P~
Not at Fort Canning for sure. Erm, thinking of booking a hotel room/suite and invite only the closest of relatives and friends (J likes the Ritz). I'm sure the room will be put to good use later lah. First night as husband and wife mah... *attempts coy look* :)
Shy mah ... this coming from a self professed thick-skiined gorilla. Classic! LOL!
Yah, solemnisation can be done in a hotel lah ... even at home. You just have to compensate the solemniser for his/her time and expenses. I don't have anything against Fort Canning, but wanted something more private and cosy lah, rather than sharing the special day with a hoarde of other couples. Gorilla shy mah. Muahahaha! :)
Congrats on taking the giant step!! :D I'm sure ur "supper" that night was especially sweet for the both of u.. *winks* Hope you guys have a wonderful time planning for ur 'big day'..Heard from my friends it's quite a lot of work planning, esp if you all wanna book hotels/restaurants etc. I guess you'll have to plan early..
Heh, thanks! I really enjoyed living with J these past months, so the giant step really didn't seem that daunting after all. In fact, I'd like her to move in with me when we move back to S'pore after my overseas assignments end. ;)
Erm, it's only the ROM solemnisation ceremony for now, so there's not much elaborate planning involved ... but yah, the actual church wedding, reception and dinner are another matter man! Siong ah! Definitely must plan earlier ... and rope in friends to help with the actual day, otherwise the couple sure peng san one! :)
Btw, you might wanna log into LJ. Locked posts lah. ;)
It'll be so nice for her to move in with you after ur overseas assignments.. When will they end?
Yup, have to rope in friends to help with the actual day. My friends said that on the actual day, sorta everything gotta let friends arrange n prepare. The couple just has to enjoy the day. :) If it's possible to do away with most of the 'extra' stuffs, I guess I'll do that. A simple memorable wedding will be more meaningful then a run-of-the-mill, 'huge' kinda wedding. (Personal preference.. haha..)
I'm hoping it'll end by April ... just in time for our ROM in May. :) Still negotiating with my regional boss though. Heh, but whatever the outcome, there'll be a Mrs Buzz in May! Woot!
We've discussed and kinda know which friends to rope in to help liao. In fact, J is already gathering info and putting together first-cut to-do lists for them for the Big Day which isn't till year end at least! She really can lah! :) We've also decided on the church to hold our wedding ceremony and reception, but still deliberating over short-listed wedding dinnner venues.
I also want a simple, intimate and cosy wedding with only close relatives and friends present, but we've got some work to do to convince our parents ... well, mine more than hers actually. Aiyah, my mother like planning to film next Gandhi movie lidat ... cast of 1000s! OK, 100s ... but still! *headache*

Apparently it's a Chinese cyanobacterium, and is terrestial in nature. Heh. And may be bad for health! O.o

Can a solemnization be done in a hotel room? Then again, there's no regulation prohibiting that also hor? Heh.
