If you are fedup with Fotopics you could try Fotki. For $30/yr you get unlimited space and can link images in directly. As you are probably aware I use it heavily. Take care and enjoy Turkey. Maybe the have the bugs worked out of the train by now.
I was thinking more about your original post. It is an odd slice of your life that you seem to reveal in your journal, especially when you contrast it with stereotypes of your profession.
Without paying anything, Fotki gives you 10MB of storage. It might be worth checking out te see if you like it. I just find it so easy to use and so flexible. To be able to embed images in your journal you need to pay for a premium account. I am wondering if that is the case with Fotopics too? Might it be necessary to pay for the account in order to embed pictures?
Speaking of safety, I am in Italy. I just filled out a corporate EHS survey. One question asked "Is your workplace safer now than a year ago?" Last year I was in Japan. It was much safer last year. My colleague just sent me an article out of an English language Italian newspaper. It mentioned that there were 42000 road accidents, and 968 deadly accidents killing 1107 people during June, July and August of this year. Apparently these are 5% improvements over previous years
