If you want to really surprise them I have a macaroni and cheese recipe that I got years ago from a co-worker at the Tribune. We did a Thanksgiving food day for Advertising and I questioned Mac N Cheese being a Thanksgiving staple. Apparently, every black woman I worked with knew that *I* was the crazy one here. It was good and rich like no Mac N Cheese I've tasted and I asked for the recipe. It is honestly too rich to eat as a meal - it's a side dish. I'd be happy to give you the recipe.

And I'm really glad you had a fun Saturday night.

The Mac and cheese sounds like a great idea. Failing that, try something simple, like chocolate chip cookies, I think that would probably be fine. Or brownies. Everyone loves brownies, right?

Anyway, avoid the whiny emo kids in bear hats, I think. Stick to the cheap drinks and dancing! :) All it took was to show that you weren't some stuff-shirt mightier-than-thou white lady. :)
