Mephistos recap / Not spinning at Necto on Monday

The Mephistos show last Sat got off to a rocky start. The night had a S&M/Bondage theme, so I figured I'd play a bit slower more sexual/sensual set. I opened with Seedy Films by Soft Cell (from Non Stop Erotic Cabaret, one of the my all-time favorites albums). Midway through it, the bartender comes up and tells me the owner wants me to play faster

Sorry to hear that, anyhow yeah.... Jenna likes to lie to the DJ's to get her way "the owner wants this and the owner wants that" blah blah blah "everyone is bitching" which sommetimes they do. However you're the DJ so part of that is your call on what you want to play. But then again you're there to play music the people enjoy and make the people happy. This is why radio is sometimes more fun, because if anyone doesn't like it they can call in and you can tell them to fuck off. In person is harder especially because you don't want to piss them off so they don't come back to the bar. Our money is made from the patrons, and even if they get pissy we give them SOME leway (however if they push it we toss them out and they can go find another bar to annoy).
