Y should be on every list. It's one of the most complete comic-book stories ever penned.

Iron Man should be on your list. Now I'm intrigued as to whether you liked Dark Knight.

I liked Pineapple Express more than I thought I would, but Zack and Miri Make a Porno is the far, far, FAR better Seth Rogen movie of 2008.

I have't seen either Pineapple or Porno, but to what extent is your assessment based on the relative amount of time Seth Rogen spends shirtless?

LOL. That might have a little to do with it. But more of it is that Porno is a drama-comedy and Pineapple is a straight-up comedy. I liked a lot of the emotional truths in Porno (with the exception of one scene I found a little too syrupy).

I missed Zack and Miri, but I'll be damned if Kevin Smith has made a more interesting movie than Pineapple Express. I still don't know what that movie is, but it's definitely more than a comedy. I'm one of Kevin Smith's regular defenders, but I know what he can and can't do, and I'm betting that Z&M is long on formal innovation. But I guess I'll have to see. :)

Iron Man is a pretty great superhero movie, but if it makes it on my list it's because of Robert Downey Jr. I mean, did anyone give a crap about the climactic showdown with Iron Monger? I didn't. The best parts of that movie were all up front or in the tail, I think. The climax was remarkably anti-.

And The Dark Knight... alas. I just can't get excited about it. I loved loved loved parts of it, and all of those parts involved Heath Ledger's Joker or a Skyhook. The movie's a huge mess, takes conflicting moral stances, and generally leaves me looking for a reason to even think about it. I really expected more from the makers of The Prestige.

Well, get used to it. What say we hit the Halls of Lightning and then cool off at the 19th hole?

Re: World of Warcraft
I've been playing for a few weeks, and wow. I didn't think anything could be better than Baldur's Gate, but wow. I'm mostly solo-ing at this point, and really dread getting into group dynamics. Maybe I need to seek out your server.

Re: Y
Just getting into this one, too. I think I'm up to the 3rd or 4th trade. It's interesting, but not something that I need to force myself away from. I know it gets better.
