Class Descriptions
Note: A student must take all seven mandatory core classes. Electives are optional, but one may not have too many. Elective number is as follows:
Ages 7-10: One elective
Ages 11-14: Two electives
Ages 15-18: Three electives
Defensive and Offensive Battle will also be grouped into age groups according to those numbers, as shown:
Defensive Battle I: Ages 7-10
Defensive Battle II: Ages 11-14
Defensive Battle III: Ages 15-18
Offensive Battle I: Ages 7-10
Offensive Battle II: Ages 11-14
Offensive Battle III: Ages 15-18
Second note: Because of the way the schedules work (see below), a teacher may teach more than one class. This would be meaning a class like Math / Science / Social Studies / English and either an elective or Defensive Battle / Offensive Battle / Power Control.
Mandatory
Defensive Battle - [Professor - NPC] - A class focusing on exactly what it says - defensive battle, and how to defend oneself from attacks, including other mutants' powers.
Offensive Battle - [Professor - NPC] - A class focusing on attacking others, taking the offense. Rather self-explanatory, and also helps in strengthening one's abilities.
Mathmatics - [Professor - NPC] - Self-explanatory. Students under fifteen take a general "math" class*, students over that age may pick one of the following:
Algebra
Geometry
Statistics
English - [Professor - NPC] - Self-explanatory. Students under fifteen take a general "english" class*, students over that age may pick one of the following:
Literature
Grammar
Linguistics
Social Studies - [Professor - NPC] - Self-explanatory. Students under fifteen take a general "social studies" class*, students over that age may pick one of the following:
Geography
History
Economics
Science - [Professor - NPC] - Self-explanatory. Students under fifteen take a general "science" class*, students over that age may pick one of the following:
Physics
Biology
Chemistry
Power Control - Fondly abbreviated as "PC" by its students, Power Control is a class in which the students learn to better use or handle their powers. Mutant powers are very varied, and students must have individual help. Therefore, classes are divided up by the basic type of power its students possess. The groups are: (Contact us here if you have any trouble distinguishing which group your character belongs to)
Strength - For students whose powers have to do with their physical ability. [Professor - NPC]
Mental - For students whose powers have to do with their mental abilities. This varies from time to telepathy to psychics. [Professor - NPC]
Controllers - For students whose powers have to do with controlling other things. From water or fire to metal to creatures. [Professor - NPC]
Somatic - For students whose powers have to do with their touch. Whether your character can transform metal to plastic by touching it, or melting things with their bare hands. [Professor - NPC]
Electives
Flight - A class in which the students learn how to fly jets or planes.
Mutant History - Here, a student would learn about the history of mutants, and some in particular who have impacted the world.
Technology - A class in which students learn about electricity and machines, how they work, and how to fix them.
Mutant Ethics - In this class, students learn about morals, and what they should or should not do with their powers.
Leadership/Tactics - Students learn strategy and battle tactics, when to retreat, when not to, and how to be a good leader.
X-Men Training Program - A somewhat elite, invite-only class in which students who have been chosen as a possible future member of the X-Men come and practice their skills. Your character will not be able to take this class without mod approval.
*These younger students will be divided into three age groups for their general class:
Math/Science/Social Studies/English I: Ages 7 - 9
Math/Science/Social Studies/English II: Ages 10 - 12
Math/Science/Social Studies/English III: Ages 13 - 14
Class Rosters
A note on mealtimes: Xavier Institute is a large mansion. There are not many students, and so, they have the freedom to eat whenever they would like, as most days students only have two or three classes, and rarely are they consecutive. (Excluding after dark, naturally.) There is a chef, maybe even a multitude of chefs, there to serve them.
A second note on class days: Since the students don't have that many classes during the day, classes are taking place Monday - Saturday instead of Monday - Friday.
