Tutorial: Supernatural/Dean/selective coloring
Was asked to do a tutorial for the icons at this post. so i'm using this icon as a guide.

Start out with your screencap. In this case I used this one. Crop and resize to 100x100. (IMPORTANT: do not sharpen!)
Duplicate your base twice. Set both of the duplication layers to screen @ 100%
Selective coloring layer (layer> adjustment layer> selective color) and use these settings:
red: -100/30/100/0
yello: -100/0/100/0
neutral: 25/10/10/-25
(to make the darker icon)
Create another selective color layer and use these settings:
yellow: 100/0/-100/0
neutral: 10/5/10/15
Create a hue/saturation layer (layer> adjustment layer> hue/saturation) up the saturation by 20.
Voila!
NOTE: if it seems a little too red, just take out the '30' in the red section on the first selective color layer
