[IC Contact] Kupo Kupo Answering Machine

Sep 17, 2010 00:07

[ Silence at the end of the line, at first. Then an awkward, offtune humming begins, though instead of being wordless it appears to be someone repeating the single word 'kupo' on loop for about ten seconds. Abruptly, the toneless burbling stops, and an entirely too perky voice pipes up. ]"Greetings, Kupo! This is Moggie! Sir Fratley can't answer ( Read more... )

Fratley, it's Re-l. I may have found you a place to stay. You should get in contact with this man. He has room to spare and I believe you'll find him accommodating.

If you need anything else, you know where to reach me.

Alright. Please, stay with Daedalus for a few more days until we have something fully ironed out and you moved in, okay?

[ It's probably about half an hour later when Fratley calls back. Ring, ring. ]

Lady Re-l?

It's all right. I apologize for not answering sooner; I was... practicing.

[A small scuffle as Azirpahale fights with his NV - he's still not used to the damned thing, before the video turns on, and he gives it a slightly unsure smile, not sure if it's on or not.] Is this...? Ah! Um, oh, I always hated ansaphones. Horrible things.

What was it...? Oh yes! Ah... I just wanted to say, that is, well, I'm afraid I didn't give you my real name the other day. I come from a place where my name would be rather strange, and don't often use it, but it seems that there are others like me around here and they use theirs, and, well, I thought it would be rather ungracious not to let you know before I stared to use it. It's Aziraphale. I'm sorry for telling you otherwise.

But thank you for helping me. I really appreciate it. [He gives a bright, honest smile, before ending the call.]

[ Fratley doesn't get to answer this until he gets home, so he's out of his uniform and in his civvies by the time he replies in kind. He's hatless, for once, and his voice is kind-- it's a pleasant surprise, certainly. ]

Your caution is understandable, Sir Aziraphale. [ It doesn't seem like the formal patter stops when he's not on the job. ] You are most welcome for whatever small aid I was able to offer. Should you need anything else, feel free to let me know-- I will do whatever I can to assist, both as a police officer of Siren's Port and as a fellow Newcomer.

Ah, no, you were very helpful. Thank you again for your help. I think I'm as settled as I can be now, but if I can ever do anything for you, just let me know!

Video; oh geez, i'm sorry this was so late by_your_leave November 16 2011, 11:12:30 UTC
[ He doesn't usually meet anyone who thanks him for doing his job, so he's a little stuck on how to respond for a moment-- until he realizes leaving Aziraphale hanging is awfully rude. ]

I will be certain to keep that in mind.

Have you had any luck in seeking employment?

Hello, this is Lois Lane, Triple-N. I was hoping to talk to get a perspective from inside the police department on the recent controversy over 'vigilante' [ and yes, the air-quote are audible ] activity.

If I can just have a few moments of your time, a call back would be appreciated.

sjgasg sorry for the lateness! by_your_leave November 22 2011, 14:43:02 UTC
[ It takes Fratley most of the day to get back to Lois, less because he doesn't have the time and more because he hasn't entirely decided whether or not he wants to subject himself to an interview. For one thing, he's hardly the most eloquent member of the force, and for another, he isn't certain what he could have to say that would be newsworthy. Finally, though possibly against his better judgement, he dials back. His voice is even and impeccably cordial, regardless of his own uncertainty. ]

This is Officer Fratley. [ A barely perceptible pause, but it's there. ] What exactly did you wish to know?

pfffft, no bother. presspasskey November 24 2011, 01:32:53 UTC
[ Lois on instinct turns her tone to friendly professionalism--but still absolutely and utterly professional. No need to be frightening; no need to seem like she's trying to be overly intrusive, either--which she isn't. ]

Hi, thanks for calling me back. Like I said, I'm gathering some perspectives on the current controversy, and was hoping for some insight from the side other than civilian and costumed ones.

Have you had any contact yourself with the bounty hunters, vigilantes, and heroes, direct or indirect?

Yes.

[ The answer is simple and to the point, though he hesitates a bit-- it seems rude, somehow, to leave it at that, but it does answer her question. ]
