Not a fun day at all.]Hello everyone, I hope you're staying indoors and keeping warm. 'When it rains, it pours!' as the old saying goes. Don't want anyone ( Read more... )

Thank you for the kind words, Miss. I have yet to catch a flu, but I am planning on staying indoors.

As for where I come from, it is the city of Paris in France. I'm not certain if you've ever heard of it, but it is a beautiful city nonetheless.

Paris? [She swoons a little, but it's rather over dramatic.] It's the romantic dream of many girls to visit the city of love. I never been there but I've seen plenty of pictures. Must be nice being from such a wonderful place.

I'm quite content living in Paris, or was before coming here. I'd teach, compose, and play piano for nobles and others of high society. If you are ever able to visit, I highly recommend it.

That sounds really impressive! I wish I learned how to play an instrument. Don't think I'll be able to go there for a while, unless they happen to have a secret passage that goes there. Must have had a lucrative career while you were there.

I was a famous composer and pianist in Paris, as well as a very well-known teacher. Although if you'd like to learn to play an instrument, I'd gladly teach you how to play piano. [He pauses, almost forgetting his manners.] Oh where are my manners? Please allow me to introduce myself, my name is Frederic Francois Chopin. It is a pleasure to meet you, Miss...?

It's okay. I'm too old to learn quite frankly. I doubt I would pick it up as fast as children would.

My name is Paprika. [...] Chopin, you say? [Her history is failing her, but she could have swore she heard of that name once.]

Oh you're never too old to learn anything, Miss Paprika. I'm sure you could learn just as well as any child.

And yes, that is me. Have you heard of me? If you haven't, it is quite all right.

You can't teach an old dog new tricks, Mr. Chopin. I think your time would be better spent on the younger generation.

I think I have. Can't remember where though.

If you insist, Miss Paprika. Should you decide to change your mind, you can always contact me if you'd like private lessons.

More than likely through hearing my music or reading history texts about my life, I seem to be very well-known in modern times. Or at least that is what my friends from that era have told me.

History texts, huh. I'll look them up! I could have swore I heard about you before. Never was much of a history whiz.

You should teach people piano here, if you're as good as you say.

As I said it's quite all right, I don't really consider myself all that famous quite honestly.

I'm actually obtaining a job as a teacher at the school, you're welcome to join the classes I will be teaching at. It's not simply about learning to play instruments, but also about the history of music and learning various other music from different worlds.

Fame is made by other people, not by the person who receives it. Sorry, Mr. Chopin, but it's a responsibility you have to live with for the time being.

Your offer is very kind, but I have to refuse. Still getting use to this place and I don't think I'd fit in with the kids. [That and she's sure you wouldn't be able to see her anyway]

I've learned that all too well, Miss Paprika. Sometimes I wish I wasn't very famous and simply an ordinary man.

Ah of course. You're a new feather I presume? You should get settled before you doing anything else. Have you learned your way around the village yet? I could give you a tour of it if you haven't.

Being famous has it's ups and downs. Not that I would know personally.

I've already toured around the village on my own time. It isn't home, but it'll have to make do while we're all stuck. But thank you for the offer - you must be living proof that chivalry isn't dead.

Indeed it does, it mostly has downs though as people find it amusing to gossip about those who are famous.

I-I suppose that could be true, but I was merely doing it as a gentleman who wishes to help a lady.

I can't think of anything bad to say about you Mr. Chopin. People will always have their opinions.

I understand and I appreciate the sentiment.
