[Warden FilterIf you catch Arthas up on deck, he's not allowed up there. I really don't know if he's still violent anymore. In any case, please let me know if he's up there. He still has a few more days in Zero
( Read more... )
[Well, he was expecting to have to see him in the first place. The sound of mail jingling and plate against the floor announces his arrival in Zero once again, and he stops in front of Arthas' cell.]
[Arthas, fully renewed with unblackened skin and bones that aren't showing through it, is still curled up in the epicenter of the scorching and smoke damage that has ruined his cell, probably the exact spot where he died. He doesn't seem to care that he's getting his own grease and ashes on his clothes.
He doesn't respond when Tirion walks up. He's breathing, though. That's a good sign.]
[Tirion shifts to sit on the floor in front of Arthas' cell, laying the Ashbringer across his legs and just watches the death knight for a moment before speaking up.]
The octiron reflected or absorbed anything magical used against it. And since the sword was inherently magical, it was basically sealed within the octiron.
No one would be able to get into it, and no one would be able to get it out. Excepting those Frostmourne already affected - had a connection to, if I remember right.
Given that I at least had some role in releasing it, I have to ask: why did it need opening?
I accept that there was one, and a good one, as I take none of you for fools who would do something lightly and for the sake of it, but I would like to hear it, if at all possible.
I'll... partly agree with that. It depends on the nature of the sword. I'm not about to give up my own sword anytime soon.
And I'll certainly try to explain why, Ardent.
So long as Frostmourne was locked up there was nothing I could do for Arthas, not when it was part of his mind, influencing him, and acting through him. And it would always be there.
But now, he's finally his own person. Perhaps he can finally be helped, which is what he's here for.
He's not alright, but hopefully in time he will be. It might be a long time.
The Ashbringer was forged as a weapon to use against the Scourge, it's infused with a crystal that has the power of the Light. It's powerful enough to rend the weakest of the undead to nothing but ash.
Actually, it was King Magni Bronzebeard that forged the sword, requested by a friend of mine.
Thank you, I think we're going to need all the luck we can get.
Don't be too hard on yourself, Comrade. Honestly, I sometimes think that the Barge is engineered to occasionally unleash horrible soul stealing things on us, and the Admiral did deliberately bring it on board with him when Arthas died, so this may have been inevitable.
[There's a brief pause, mainly out of politeness.]
He said once, that he and the sword were symbiotic. Is he going to be all right, now that it's gone? I mean... [Derp, awkward] I saw his post, I know he's not all right, Comrade, but I mean... losing it didn't harm him, did it?
I don't think he's physically harmed in anyway from their connection being broken. It's no longer a presence in his mind, and he has his soul back. It can no longer prevent him from not feeling guilt or avoiding consequences of his actions. To say that there is a lot he has to bear right now would be an understatement.

[awkward, Dwarfish, I hate Arthas pause]
Is he alright?

As I said, magical swords are generally ill advised in my opinion. What, should I ask, does yours do?
Right. I'm not sure I can really relate to any of that, but... well, good luck to the both of you.
