Brad and I have been feverishly working on our house in preparation for the arrival of his mother who is coming to stay with us at the end of the month. For the record. Katie's dad had offered us to go on their family's boat - possibly with Marc and Sadie. Meanwhile Ryan had mentioned wanting to do something with Dan, and the two of us, with Jesse since it's his last day in town. Since Marc and Sadie wouldn't have been able to make it to the boat in time, Katie thought Jesse, Dan and Ryan might enjoy a boat ride. Unfortunately things didn't get timed properly and we had a larger group than we could have on the boat. Anyway, we ended up organizing at our house, just to at least spend some time with Jesse and we decided to go to OC for happy hour. I had also called Sadie and Marc, since I knew that they would be available now.

Katie nor I called you because it was absolutely last minute for us as well.

I totally understand and that makes perfect sense. I'm not actually mad at you guys, I was just trying to make a point.

Hey, sorry about not giving you a call last night. I can understand why it would bother you, but I hope that as you can see things from your perspective that you'd also be able to see them from mine. We went to Old Chicago and you were out with a bunch of friends and didn't call to invite us. Granted, you explained that it was thrown together on the fly, but so was ours. So it looks like we're essentially in the same boat ( ... )

The situation makes perfect sense, and I figured it was something along those lines. Everyone has situations where it is inconvenient to invite people -- last minute, etc. I guess I misunderstood your reasons for questioning me that afternoon in chat, and because of that (I've been in a snarky mood lately) I felt it necessary to point out to you just that -- you can't always invite everyone. I'm not mad at you, and I hope I didn't piss you off, I was just trying to make a point.
