I'm not a big holiday decorations person either. I love to look at them and even buy them at the store, but then I hate putting them up. I even collect Hallmark Christmas Ornaments, but don't like to go to the trouble of putting up a tree.

Right now, all of my decorations are in storage and it's just too much of a hassle to look for them and dig them out. I think since we'll be going back up to Oklahoma for Christmas anyway, I won't put anything out this year. But maybe I will next year (then again, I always say "next year").

Minus the collecting Hallmark ornaments, you sound like me, especially when it comes to the tree. I love to look at it, but no one wants to put it up and decorate it and they really don't want to take it down.

I've worked like a dog for years decorating and making sure our kids, and now grandkids, have a festive environment. No wonder I'm sick of it and scrooge-like. In addition to all that decorating I make a huge fancy Christmas Eve dinner for everyone.

I'm ready to pass the torch to my kids, but they want to stick with tradition. Here's an example: When Michael, our 6 year old grandchild, was asked in school what his family's Christmas tradition is, he answered, "we go to Mimi and Poppi's. Everybody laughs and eats snacks (thank God he left off the drinking part). Then we have a big feast and open presents."

That sort of thing makes it harder and harder to pass the torch. But I'm just plain tired.
