I complain all the time about being busy but then i have a night off and i wish i was doing something. all i can think about is when i have to go to work next, go to school next, or run some errand. home is where you make it... capt_pacifism April 24 2005, 08:42:52 UTC
IMPOSSIBLE to not rock out to "Faith," thank you! I know this weekend has sucked with our opposing hours and whatnot, but if we just savor the times we have together ("Savory") things will be alright. You need a hobby, babes, I've seen things you've done that hint at potential hobbies that I think you should explore. The most therapeudic things come out of creation for me, and its different for everyone, but i think its at least worth a shot. Loves.

People can be rude. I can't believe a lady said that to you straight out, as if she was saying "I hate people like you". Rude. It's funny how piercings and tattoos change people's opinions of others... as if they were anything more than just decoration. I remember when I had my ttongue pierced.... most people didnt' notice it especailly at work... and on more than one occasion, after months and months of knowing me someone would say "oh my god! your tongue is pierced?!" and you could tell by the way they said it it was if that really said something about me, made me a different sort of person. And it's such a double standard.... if you think about somebody who has a military tattoo... then it's ok, accepted, like a badge of honor almost.
I think we're at a point where such modifications have become socially acceptable (obviously), but there are still generations of people who are appalled by it (as there always will be).

i think that surface piercings are going to be the new eyebrow and nose piercings! i have a friend swho has her neck pierced and it's so beautiful! it swill be fun to see all the people our age in about 50 years with saggy tattoos and holes in their bodies.

i saw a picture the other day (and not in one of those body art magazines where they ALWAYS have crazy shit) of a girl who had piercings up and down both of her SIDES and she had laced ribbon through. it was strange, but looked kinda cool.

saggy tattoos. lol.

i know exactly what you mean. about six months ago i got offered a very professional, corporate-type job, in a fancy office that is the company's nat'l headquarters. normally i'm sort of your stereotypical dyke with the boy clothes and the short hair, piercings, ink: the full meal deal. so of course i had to go shopping all buy all this "girl" clothes and had to make sure my sleeves were long, etc. now that i've been here about six months, i've been able to feel the place out enough to push the boundaries a bit in terms of what i wear and stuff. this last friday for example i wore a shirt and tie to work, granted not unusual for the guys who work here, but definetly not the norm for the ladies. needless to say, i had a couple good, long looks from some of my coworkers, even the ones who i'm good buddies with. it's been kind of a fun sociological experiment to see how people treat me after work when i'm out in the world running errands and all that, versus when i'm out doing things in my normal clothes, where you can see my ink and all ( ... )

alot of older people come into my work too, and ask me about my tattoos and piercings and are actually interested.

it's cool that you are starting to find more freedom at your work, even if it is wearing a tie.
