[Starting to come to terms with his 'Newfeather' status, Edge had finally decided to slip out and do a bit of exploring on his own. He'd gone through a lot of work to make his thin armor accommodate his new appendages, and was determined to go out and see what he could do with them. Even if it was only hovering and gliding, having wings was still pretty cool.

The Captain of the Calnus was passing by quietly, his eyes wide as he looked around and tried to take in everything. He stops though when he sees someone sitting on a bench and tilts his head before raising a hand in greeting.]

[Artemis looks up from his typing, taking in the appearance of the (apparent) soldier before him. Wearing armor out here? Was he afraid the town was going to fall under seige in broad daylight?]

Good afternoon. [He nods in greeting and goes back to his typing. ...Fortunately Jay-Jay reminds him he's being stand-offish and tugs at Artemis' ear lightly.]

No, not at all. I had booked this time for spending an afternoon outside my apartment, so I suppose this is an adequate use of that time.

[There's little to nothing going on at the moment, and Rokuta is to the point where even getting to sleep in all day is getting boring. So he's out wandering when he spots the kid with the... furry... creature out sitting on a bench. Curiosity drives him to investigate, and without bothering to ask permission Rokuta clambers up onto the bench and perches on the back, ignoring the proper function of the bench's actual seat, and watches Jay-Jay with some interest as he greets the stranger.]

I've seen you around before, haven't I?

[Artemis visibly stiffens as he hears, then watches, Rokuta climbing onto the back of the bench. The ultimate form of Reading Over The Shoulder... It's completely unnerving.]

Perhaps... [Though he's fairly certain he would have remembered someone who climbed on the backs of benches and watched his lemur.] I have been here for a few months, though I seldom go outside. [Can you tell? He's paler than a sheet.]

[Rokuta just grins brightly, attention shifting from the lemur to the boy so he can actually make conversation with the right one of the two.]

I wouldn't blame you for not wanting to go out when it's snowing. It's pretty nice out today, though.

[Odd-looking creature, really. Looks kind of like a youma, but definitely isn't one. Rokuta can't help but be interested.]

I... suppose he is, for the moment. He's supposed to be at a facility for endangered animals, but I found him climbing in my window one morning. [He puts a hand on the other's shoulder and Jay-Jay scampers over. He seems to like animals.]

[You know, Remilia has never seen a laptop. And she's fairly curious about what that is under Artemis' arms. So she's doing her thing and peering it over like Artemis isn't even here.]

[Artemis keeps working on his notes, wondering if she'll just go away if he ignores her. ...but it seems she's just too intrigued either by the device, or by his notes on Luceti. After another minute, the tension from the blatant disregard of his personal space is just too much for him to bear.]
