Andromeda closed the door to Teddy's room and cast the charm so that she could here him should he stir during the night. He'd been sleeping a lot better over the last few weeks and even slept until 5am the other day.

She walked to her bedroom and grabbed her pyjamas and robe from the closet and headed to the bathroom for a bath. It wasn't often that she'd get to indulge in a bubble bath, especially since...She shook that thought out of her head and turned on the tap, adding some bath milk and watching the bubbles form underneath the rush of water.

Forty minutes later, she stepped out of the bathroom, clean and smelling like fresia. Andromeda walked to the kitchen and made a pot of coffee, as was her custom on Sunday evenings. Ted kept telling her that coffee made by magic never tasted as good as when it was made the old-fashioned way. He insisted on having a French press and she had to admit that Ted was right. When the coffee was done, she poured herself a mug and added some Irish creme, the Muggle kind that she'd come to prefer over the years. In her bare feet and holding her mug in her hand, she made her way into the living room, where a large fire was waiting for her and she snuggled into the overstuffed, chintz armchair and threw a light lap blanket over her shoulders.

Her days were mapped out for her by the wants and needs of a four-month-old baby, broken into three to five hour blocks of time. She loved her grandson but there were times where she wished she could have a day or two to herself and do what she wanted to. She was too old to raise a baby, wasn't she? Of course, there were witches who had babies at her age. It was also true that she and Ted had actually talked about having a baby a few years ago, but the reappearance of Voldemort changed their mind. So a second child never appeared.

Teddy made a noise that caused her to turn her head to the nursery, but she was glad that he settled down again. She didn't get time to herself like this; it was her one selfish act of the week.

If only I could have more of these days, she thought. But what would I do with Teddy?

She sighed heavily and stared into the fire, thinking about the last time that she and Ted made love, which was only a few days before he ran. It was bittersweet, really, both of them knowing that they may never see each other again. They clung to each other in the low light of their bedroom, trying to make the moment last as long as possible. By the time the sun had spread its orange wings over the sky, Ted was gone.

Andromeda sniffed the tear away and took a sip of her coffee, which she had to warm with a quick spell, savouring the taste of the liqueur co-mingled with the rich coffee. Tugging the blanket tighter on her shoulders she willed the tears to go away and succeeded this time. A smile upturned a corner of her mouth as she felt pride in the fact that she made herself stop crying. It didn't happen often, but she was getting better.
