One was from Ron, a most pleasant surprise. She'd showed to Xenophilius, who hadn't even blinked. Luna had then pretended to throw the letter away, while really folding it neatly and hiding it in a pocket until she could stash it somewhere safe upstairs.

Since both Harry and Ron had written encouraging her 'not to be a stranger', she'd finally convinced herself that they didn't judge her by her father's previous actions.

Thank you very much for your letter, Ronald. It was very nice to hear from you. I've never been inside your house, but I've heard its very nice. Do you still have lots of gnomes? I would definitely like to visit one day over the summer. I do miss you all.

Satisfied, she'd turned to the next owl, which was from Neville. She read it once, then a few more times before folding it with equal care and transfering it to her pocket.

She had been going to send him a reply when third and final piece of owl post arrived. She should have been expecting it, but that didn't lessen the shock she felt as she read it. She was going to have to give evidence at the trials. And although it hadn't been Narcissa, Lucius or Draco who had caused the majority of their pain, they hadn't tried to stop it either.

With Bellatrix dead, she wasn't sure what to think of the Malfoys. She had a feeling that they'd been prisoners just as she had. But they'd still done bad things...they weren't completely blameless.

Thankfully, she had a few more days to contemplate their guilt. And, in all likelihood, worry herself to distraction. It was no good turning to her father for help, after all.

She reached into her pocket for her DA galleon, deciding a more immediate reply to Neville's owl would be better, since it meant he'd get back to her fairly quickly after that.

I would like to meet up at some point, very much so. I have to be in London for the Malfoys' trials on the 10th and 11th. I'd definitely welcome a friendly face. I'm very glad you're coming back to Hogwarts.
