They were her friends. It was her father who'd betrayed them, not her. And he hadn't done it on purpose! He'd been scared, and desperate. She'd forgiven him, and hoped that Harry, Ron and Hermione would too, eventually. Until she could be sure they did, however, she would be more than a little nervous about facing them.
The note she pinned to the package was short and simple. After all, what else did she have to say? She was sure he was happily celebrating at home - well, at the Weasley home - but she also hoped he would appreciate the present. A lot of thought had gone into it.
Happy birthday, Harry. I hope you have a pleasant day.
Inside the package was the head dress her father had been constructing when the trio had visited him in search of information on the Deathly Hallows. It had been damaged in the scuffle with the Death Eaters, but had obviously been repaired and finished by Luna herself.
She'd used using a combination of butterbeer corks and other pieces of junk, alongside the bits and pieces her father had already employed, and somehow constructed a rather odd approximation of Rowena Ravenclaw's diadem.
