A great game, indeed, so long as Oliver Wood did not mind being made fun of before the starting whistle could even sound ( ... )

He frowned and closed his eyes slowly, removing his thumb from his mouth where he'd been actively biting a hang nail. Of course Bell would get to see him mid-yell - not that he had been thinking about what to say to them when they got there. Not at all. He didn't move much, but glanced down at her smaller frame with a slight smirk.

"Ye're late, Bell." He couldn't keep the grin from spreading across his face then, and he soon turned to her and wrapped her in a hug, nearly lifting her off her feet, though it wasn't his fault she was a good foot shorter than him. He set her down easily and looked passed her to George and Charlie and the fourth person he didn't quite recognize. He looked familiar but Oliver couldn't place it. He shifted around Katie and extended a brotherly hand to George. He wanted to hug the man, but he left it in George's field. Katie had been right in her owl. George did look different about the eyes.

"Hiya, mate," George greets with a half-empty smile. He's happy to see Oliver, for sure, and Quidditch is always a brilliant excuse for the otherwise tired mind, but George still isn't quite used to large groups of friends and family yet. It's when he feels most out of the ordinary and uncomfortable. It's when he knows people are looking at him pitying him. Crowds are when George misses Fred's laughter the most.

"Thanks for inviting us all along. S'good to see you again," he finishes, feeling lame for not showing the enthusiasm he actually feels deep inside. George shakes Oliver's hand and pulls him into a one-armed hug.

"Hey! I did have some part in your presence here," Katie interjected, wiggling into place between an old man and Oliver. The space designated for Oliver's seat was really only meant to accommodate one person but Katie's hips are slender and the elderly wizard to their right was not paying attention. Besides, she'll justify her squeeze with her being able to see better in the front than back with the boys.

Oliver hugged George back before turning to Charlie and doing the same. He pulled back from hugging Charlie and eyed him slowly.

"When did you get to be such a great old man, Charlie?" He leaned forward and peered closely at Charlie's head. "Is tha' a grey hair?" he scoffed, with a wink to Katie. He hoped the joking would lighten the mood and take any pressure off of George. He could tell from the tone of voice and handshake that he'd received from the other man. They all needed reasons to laugh and smile these days, now more than ever.
