Dear Narcissa Malfoy,
I hope this letter finds you and your family well. As you may well know, my father Thaddeus Nott pass from existence during that battle that I'm sure you would rather avoid remembering. This leaves me the sole proprietor of all Nott lands and wealth. You may be asking where I hope to lead with all of this, but I am coming to a point.
I apologize for the late hour, but I have just arrived home not more than ten minutes ago. All of our house elves but one seem to be missing and the house is in shambles. Tomorrow I must attend my father's funeral, planned and paid for by the ministry, for reasons unknown to me. They won't release his body to my care and well, perhaps you can guess my state of mind over this whole affair.
I'm afraid that very soon the ministry will be paying me a visit, to reassure themselves of my affiliations and loyalties. Not to mention raid anything of worth from my beloved home in the name of the law. I find myself in possession of several very illegal artifacts. Though unused, they would provide some problems should they be found. I can only be foolish in assuming that you too have had such inconviences before but I must for I know not where else to turn. I was hoping you could aid me in finding some one who would be interested in some of our well kept secrets. I know that once Borgin and Burkes was the place to go for such matters, but having no news of Britain for the past few months I do not know whether they still operate under this wave of anti-dark magic sentiment that seems to be crashing down upon us.
My father once said you were the greatest woman alive, I hope that that label still rings true and you have not been diminished in any way by the passing of such horrible events. Though Notts and Malfoys have never been close allies I hope you can regard me as a humble acquaintance seeking help.
