Vinnie has started all this trouble over his silly "Goldeneye is the best fps ever" debacle, ending in his, "x-box is shit" argument ( Read more... )

Best console: NES; It was extremely profitable and it brought gaming into the mainstream. It even had cartoons! Mario and Zelda ruled this system aswell as Final Fantasy 1. SNES is a close second because of Mario RPG, Final Fantasy 2/3 and Mario Kart.

Most influential PC FPS: Quake 2; Half-life engine is heavily based on the same engine.

Most influential Console FPS: Goldeneye; Brought console split screen multiplayer into the mainstream.

Best PC FPS: Half-life; duh.

Best Console FPS: Halo 2; Most played online console game. Great engine.

I was going to make my own entry, but amazingly, bruno said almost EXACTLY what i was going to say. But I would also like to mention that Mike Tysons Punchout was one of the most kickass games for nintendo.

Sega Dreamcast had a very nice selection of quality games in its short lifespan.

For my favorite FPS I'd have to go with Half-life, mostly because I love Counterstrike.

Best system, I have to agree Sega Dreamcast was a good system, just released at the wrong time but with similar graphical capabilites as an Xbox or PS2. There were many successful titles, but the noisy fan got a little on the nerves, and with no DVD drive, it didn't stand a chance. Personally, if the Dreamcast was released at the correct time, with neccasary drives and stuff, it would be a popular gamer's choice... at least more popular than the Game Cube.

ok mike, u know where i stand on best system. so i dont have to answer that one.

now, best FPS i do have to say is with the halo series. seein how i work in electronics and talk bout a bunch of games with other "game playin fags" most of the time, ive heard up and down stuff on half life, but hear that halo is a shit load better than CS and/or james, the fag, bond. i mean, sure, i think james bond brought the split screen, but idk i dont go too far into that stuff. one thing i know a lot better, halo 2, multiplayer does seem a hell of a lot better than any other FPS i have ever played. *that is with all the quakes, all the dooms, and mainly any first person shooter that mainly came out.* so i leave off with this, nes and snes did do well, but xbox is god, and FPS, ultimately is halo and halo 2, followed by doom series
