Good Fur Day

Jun 02, 2009 13:58

A day off!  I spent yesterday laying around, reclining, napping.  How sublime to nap.  Sometimes when I am working I have dreams.  Here a couple weekends ago I dreamed it was autumn.  The tall grasses were browning and smelled dry and just about ready for harvest.  As far as I could see it was like that, tall grasses, eye high and waving in a ( Read more... )

I was very happy to see you every morning at OKRF, my mantra is "it's not gonna be a good day without a Byron hug". I will be very happy to see you every day of White Hart and continue the tradition.
Love Curtis' new costume!
Squishy bear hugs till then!

I feel the same way. If I haven't extracted some number of hugs before I make the main gate, things are just sort of, off the rest of the day. Will we see you at Whitehart or Wichita or Joplin or Arkansas?

definitely Whitehart and possibly Joplin.
At WhiteHart I run Queen of Harts Tarts, so if you are interested in sweet snacks or tea or lemonade, in addition to the gallon of water you drink a day, just send Curtis over and have him pick something out for the both of you.

I love lemonade. I drink gatoraid all day long so some lemonade would really be nice during a break. I'll have my handler come by to retrieve it.

You didn't look a bit fat to me, Sir Byron, darling bear! It was a good run at OKRF, indeed. Can't wait to see you at White Hart again! Rest well...

Bears work at being fat byron_bear June 3 2009, 22:01:02 UTC
In all fairness a portion of my fatness was a completely full Camelbak with nice Ice in it. When the body cast was made for the sculpture I weighed 165 lbs so have always considered that the top end and when I work continously through without taking a break in August, as I will this year, I generally have carved my insides down to 145 lbs. This year my neighbor, who lives North of me and happens to be a marvelous cook, is off on workman's comp and so has been inviting me up for some food. This is a bear weakness, if there is food and you're invited to eat it, you do! Almost a cardinal rule I should think ( ... )

I don't blame you a bit; being fed by a good cook is one of the great pleasures in life, IMO.

And thank you, dearheart, that is one of the loveliest compliments ever. I think I'll have to come up with a tabbard for you that matches the Guards. You're more than welcome to guard me or attend court activities anytime!

*hugs*

Gosh I did not see you. You should have told someone to come and get me or tell you where I was. I would have loved to administer a bear hug. Such hugs are nearly a requisite! I may be coming down to Wichita Falls, it still depends on whether the Kosaky, who want me in Alabama will trump the Out of Darkness Walk folks. I have connections to some of those folks in Wichita Falls and it may not be easy to trump that for a historic re-enactment.

Thanx to Curtis and you, it's a wonderful video.

So glad the summer is going well, and he's a great handler! Will you be posting any photos of him with Byron?

I'll look for you online, and hopefully you'll have time out from your schedule to greet ol' friends online.

You have three weeks of hiatus and then it's off to Missouri? I will be off starting July 1st for the first time in about a dozen years. I go back to work in mid-August. If you will be near a major city with an airport during that time, let me know. I finally have time for a visit.

(I have a parade on the 4th of July and I'm attending ComicCon in San Diego at the end of the month.)

I just now see that I can use whichever photo I want. I like the one with me scratching my back on a tree but here is one which one of the patrons took which I've set to my default for awhile ( ... )

I'll check out my schedule and let you know in a few days....

It's great seeing you and Curtis in your profile, but I would sure like to see a regular sized photo, too!
