In Character Information
character name: William T. Spears
Fandom: Kuroshitsuji (manga canon)
Timeline: End of Circus Arc.
character's age: 330+, though he appears much younger, in his early thirties.
powers, skills, pets and equipment:
Powers and skills: William is a decently ranked reaper, and as such has the set of skills every reaper possesses. He's much stronger than he looks, even when you take away the coat that hides his form, has superhuman reflexes, and is very fast. Got to keep on par with those despicable demons, after all. He can also teleport, though itfs much more risky to do when he doesnft have a clear idea where hefs headed. And he is more resilient than the average human, able to heal quickly from injury and withstand quite a lot before falling unconscious. (Sebastian comments in canon that you canft beat a reaper to death.) By being a supernatural creature, he can identify when someone is not human, though he can only place them if hefs been in contact with someone with their type of energy-such as demons or reapers from his own realm.
The second thing every reaper values above their glasses is their death scythe. William is no exception, his
scythe (shown on the left against the wall) is not just his weapon, but a part of him, not a friend but certainly a companion. It is the rare occasion when it is not invoked in his hands or nearby, and he gets fidgety without it. He uses it to attack and defend in any situation, as a sort-of walking stick, to balance when walking the tightrope in the Circus, and of course as a proper death scythe. The scythe is claimed to be a tool that can cut through anything, and although the truth of that is unverified, it has gone through stone and metal with some effort. In canon, William also uses his to collect souls and display the Cinematic Record, a power which can be used by reapers alone to judge souls. If someone is cut with the scythe, their memories will play out like on a film reel. This means that William and any onlookers are able to see it. The specific memories witnessed are related to the degree of injury; the worse damage, the farther back in time it can go. (I am willing to work on a case-by-case basis in regards to this power if it ever comes up.)
Due to the nature of Anatole, the scythe would not be able to instantly kill or collect souls.
Pets: N/A
Equipment: He comes with one suit including tie and gloves, plus his business card in the front pocket, a watch, a notebook (with bookmark) and pen, a comb, and his precious glasses with a cloth to keep them clean.
Anatole abilities: From the Mist, William has learned psychometry, which means that he is able to gain a sort of reading off objects based on who the object belongs to or the objectfs past. This is activated by contact with his bare hands. When he comes into contact with an object that belonged to, say, someone who was going through a great loss, he would feel some of that grief-either through an idea or brief mental images. It would work best on items the person in question values highly or wore, like a ring, and things that are not so valued may give no reading at all.
canon history:
Major link here, only the manga synopsis. William plays a secondary role for his involvement, first showing up to rescue Grell from Sebastian and briefly comment on how he hates demons. During the Circus Arc, he also infiltrates the circus in order to prepare for a special case of soul inspection. He manages to delay Sebastianfs attempt to find out who the mysterious gFatherh is. William isnft seen again until Sebastian sets Baron Kelvinfs manor alight, there to judge the departing souls with Ronald and ensure Sebastian cannot get any of them.
personality: If one were to ask someone what their first impression of William was, it would inevitably have some variation of the word "serious" in it. Indeed, he does walk around with a emotionless expression, and such is what he strives for. The way he sees it, emotions get in the way of reaping and judging souls, and detaching himself from them is the best way to go about this. This detachment is more like extreme repression, as he shows obvious signs of still feeling and caring about things. An example would have to be his perfectionist mannerisms-on a personal note, fastidious about his appearance to the point of immediately combing his hair after it has been distressed. Not a single hair nor a single action should fall outside of his control and become a risk for going wrong. Blunt and as stubborn as a child, William wants to control everything in his little sphere to the greatest extent he can. A second example to go more towards the "caring" side would be how he decided to save Grell Sutcliffe from being killed by Sebastian Michaelis. While he cited the reapers being shortstaffed as his reasoning, if taken from a logical perspective, Grell's death would have helped him. She had committed two serious crimes-one of them being one of their highest codes-and secondly, Sebastian killing her would have allowed William a moment in which to kill the demon. Yet despite his blatant hatred-he regularly calls Sebastian a "beast" and a "fiend"-Grell still lives due to his interference, and so does Sebastian.
The combination of perfectionism and repression naturally all makes him highly stressed, but not a breath of complaint about it is seen from him, for it would be weakness. And William cannot show weakness, must conceal his weaknesses with a passion that borders on desperation. Death is what he is, and death has no flaws. Death "is a rule that no one should overturn", to quote another reaper, and it speaks to William's love of order and the rules. The rules of a reaper give structure, have authority, and command apathy from their subjects, a state in which he regularly exists. Except when dealing with the object of his hatred, he acts cool, collected, and relatively unmoved except for mild irritation expressed through nothing more than a sighed "Honestly..." Even when around Sebastian and his composure begins to slip, the two snark at each other rather than engage in violence-the exception being William's death threats. This apathy, as previously mentioned, is not perfect, and so he works each and every day to make it a little closer to being so.
why do you feel this character would be appropriate to the setting? The character deals with the supernatural every day, being a reaper. With his large amount of experience in the death business, he would have grown accustomed to the darker side of things while being able to maintain his personal order and self control.

So Anatole still exists. It still functions, still carries some of the same faces. Some are new, as well.
I am aware there are things to tell new arrivals, but I am wondering if there are things to tell rearrivals?
Also, how common is it to die and have that condition undone, so to speak, in this place?
For those that might recall, my name is William T. Spears.
Third Person Sample:
It had been dark, he remembered, dark and quiet. But it hadn't stayed dark, it was merely an overlay to the world when it was really looked at. A place to sit, and think about anything, everything. He hadn't gotten a chance to examine himself, though. The tranquil and loving realm was rudely yanked away, and he was suddenly facing bright, blurry light.
Sunlight.
Reaching over to the side of him, his hand bumped against a side table-just like before-and in due time found the metal frames he immediately put on. They were a part of him, it was as much putting on William T. Spears as it was correcting his eyesight. He sat up, and rearranged his hair with his hands, thinking hard.
He had died, of that he was certain. Unluckily, quietly, with dignity. A proper English reaper's death, and he doubted anyone had noticed. Good. Reapers weren't supposed to be noticed for their deaths, they were noticed for the death they brought. Yet it was wrong, that he could now sit here in Anatole's light. A glance at the Forge on the table told him enough, and he allowed himself a tiny groan. Death didn't work like this. It was unnatural, perverse, to think that someone could die here and come back just fine, without a scratch.
Speaking of. He pulled himself out of the bed and removed his shirt to examine his body. No marks, nothing. Something had to be wrong with him, unless the afterlife was Anatole itself-and he highly, highly doubted that. A thought had the scythe in his hands, still fitting perfectly in the way he curled his fingers around it. Still reacting to his will flawlessly.
Perhaps the price was having to start all over again. That he could do, and this time he'd avoid the pitfalls he'd triggered last time. Pull on clothes, tuck in personal items, make the bed, put on gloves, take the scythe, and pick up the Forge.
This wasn't going to exactly be easy.
Anything else? This is a reapplication by the same mun! I intend to have had him killed off and then resurrected at this point in time.
