What's going on...?!

I haven't posted for ages, I know, but I just tried to update my Masterlist of fic I've written, and twice lj didn't accept my updated - and in fact the second time it bit off an earlier bit which I'd gone back to edit too, just disappeared it when I scrolled back down, and I only saved the original post by reversing out of my edit

I was able to post okay, but lj just wouldn't let me edit an old post. I can only guess it's because I've stuck like superglue to my old journal style, rather than letting it update. Maybe they're trying to get tough... :(

ETA - and waah, I decided to try again, and now it's even worse - I added in years with story links, and instead of posting them, it deleted the previous year and story links! How is that even possible?!

Sorry you've had problems but it's good seeing you. I've posted several times without problems so here's hoping it sticks!

Hiya - lj let me make a new post without any problems, it was editing an old post that was problematic. I just tried it again, and not only did the same thing happen, but it deleted more of my old post! So now my Masterlist of fic only goes up to the end of 2021! I actually added years and stories after 2022 at the end - and it didn't bother adding them when I hit save, and it deleted the 2022 section! What is happening?

Not a problem with posting, but I no longer get the email notifications when someone responds to one of my posts or (like now,) when I respond to someone's post. I have to check my inbox on the site to see any responses. I've tried changing my settings, turning off the responses then turning them back on, but that didn't work. I sent a message to LJ, but got no response there, either.

Actually I was able to post here okay, it just wouldn't let me edit my old Masterlist of Fic post. And when I tried again today it actually deleted more of the post that I hadn't even touched! Now it only goes to 2021, not 2022, and I can't add any stories after that...

How annoying about your notifications. Mine are at least still working (or as far as I know, I had notifications for all the replies to this post, at least).

It's such a shame - lj was by far the best format for blog posts of all kinds, and so flexible! Tumblr and Discord and BlueSky and all haven't anywhere near the same functionality (not even Dreamwidth...)

Lj let me post okay, but it won't let me edit my old Masterlist of Fic post - in fact when I tried again today it not only didn't add my new section, when I hit save it actually deleted the stuff I had there for 2022! I can only think that was because I changed something minor in the heading - like, if I made any changes at all, lj deleted everything back to where the first change was. Now it looks like I only wrote Pros until 2021. Waaah!

Sometimes I have to play with my edits. Sometimes it works and when it doesn't I reboot my computer and begin again. Not always the fix though.
