Re: WARDEN BASIC TRAINING: COMMITTEEbythe_booksMarch 31 2010, 01:32:42 UTC
I don't think it should be too big myself. No more than seven wardens, maybe?
To be honest, I don't even know how many we have right now. A good cross-section would help, though. Y'know, somebody from the, er, past, the future, an alien, a vampire... Make sure we cover all bases.
What if an Inmate is just considered a danger to a select person or group of people because of grudges or history or what have you? Is that any reason to put them on a list to everyone, even though to the majority of people they don't pose a threat at all? And furthermore, if you have a list of people like this, aren't you then categorizing them to a specific role and making it more difficult for them to climb out of it? No one's going to be inspired to change if every Warden is treating them like a dangerous criminal every time they interact and don't just claim that we, as Wardens, are beyond that. Most of us are human. We make mistakes and bad calls. Knowledge makes you biased by default and just about every person isn't beyond building stereotypes like that.
No, I agree, it's why I abstained in the first place. But we do need to keep people-- particularly new ones-- in the know about certain inmates, like the Master and his obnoxious tendency to impersonate me.
I'm thinking, if anything, there should be records kept-- for wardens only-- of crimes conducted on the Barge... Particularly murder. Torture. Those sorts of things.

Also, I reckon "warden misconduct" will have to be defined by this committee.
