I think there's too much attributed to the idea of omens. Is it poor taste not to believe in them? Maybe it's a lack of ascribing fear into my everyday life that makes me unable to see the point. If we die, we die. If we die but know we're going to die, how does that ( Read more... )

It could be considered LESS rational to ignore the killer carousel animals as being an omen. I'm not sure about omens but...dangerous things are still dangerous. And if a lot of bad things start happening...I feel like it's rational to expect further bad things. Not so much omens as...logical conclusions.

I don't know if it counts if the City's making them happen. It's like predicting what you're going to do next yourself. Also, if a person's heart stops beating, it's not an omen, but it's still a bad sign. And...yes...I'm aware that's practically what omens are but...I dunno, I don't think it's mystical.
