I was meeting Mom and Alison for dinner tonight, and I had left my laptop bag in the car when I went home from work - didn't even think about it

*wince* I'd say the laptop is gone and you won't see it again. Hopefully insurance will take care of your poor car. I hope they catch the people responsible.
Well, the police have my laptop's serial # and it's all encrypted, so if they take it to a pawn shop it's likely it will be recovered there.
As to the window, it is -exactly- $.45 less than my deductible to fix it, so no, not exactly....but I do have an appointment for Friday morning to get it fixed.
Get an x-acto knife, a sharpie, and a big, thick piece of foam board. Cut out the foam to match the broken window and use the sharpie to write: "Everything of value has already been stolen from this car." Feel free to use expletives to elaborate your feelings on the matter.
Fortunately the hit was a "tap", basically, and no serious damage outside of some messed up plastic beneath the bumper. I'm just going to grin and bear it for now.

Less fortunately? I got rear ended last night and the guy left the scene of the accident.

*hugs* Make sure to use as much of your insurance's PIP and health coverage as you can. Rear ending makes for really messed up backs. :P
