Do you ever not watch/read something because you know/heard/think it might be really good, and once you watch it, it won't be there to watch/read anymore?
I do it. All the time. It's like there's a finite number of good things, and I need to save them up. But then I never watch/read them.

I remember crying throughout the epilogue of a series when the final book came out.
Why do they do this to us? Although I guess it's better than dragging out a show long beyond its expiration date...
Re: your Game of Thrones icon... I haven't even started it, I just find the whole series so depressing. I've got the latest book on audio and won't even listen. I just can't imagine any of it ending happily.

The problem is that the story itself, and the characters, are so incredibly engaging - and the author manages to put just enough hope into the tale to string you along. That said I really liked parts of the last book, even if some of the chapters were incredibly disturbing.

True, true. Yet I really dislike the emotional emptiness that I'm left with after finishing something that I really love. The only thing that helps is starting another series/book/film that is equally engaging, but those are usually hard to find. ;)
