Sign or coincidence?

I pulled my larger-sized Bible off of its shelf today, and I decided that I would drop it (so kind, I know) and read in entirety whatever page it fell open to, hoping I'd get some sort of inspiration regarding my decision whether or not to leave Missouri ( Read more... )

I'd suggest Butler of those two options. If you're looking for a challenge, that'd be closer to it, though not one that's too difficult. IUPUI will get you the eduction, but it probably won't challenge you any.

Here are the schools in Indiana that require working one's ass off:
1) Notre Dame
2) DePauw

And there you have it. Indiana universities are all pretty amazing, it just depends if you want to be challenged, or coast.

Also, your Bible experiment was most likely number one, considering that's the only one that has any logical basis.

Sweetie, we'd love to have you here! However, make sure you make this decision with a lot of prayer, and not just because you're running away from something (I have no idea what that would be, I'm just saying!). Rachel must be an amazing woman to be worth this, that's awesome you have a friendship like that!

I know choosing college seems like the hugest decision in the world, and it is a big one--but in the great scheme of things, it's not the ultimate. I'll be praying for you, and of course, uber excited if you decide to come up Indy way! :)

P.S. Considering how much debt is required to go to either school would be a good choice. I'd hate to see you in your 30's or 40's and still plagued by school loans.

I'd appreciate your prayers, definitely. It's a big choice to be moving away, not so much the school. Also... if you could try to keep this on the DL, we'd both appreciate it. We don't exactly want the whole world knowing yet.

I guess it was dumb of me to put it on the internet in this case, but too late now.

Also remember the adage "you have to spend money to make money." A top notch education is invaluable. And necessary in today's failing economy and competitive market. It's difficult to do anything these days without a BA, and more and more people have those, so the MA is now becoming necessary as well. A good education, an extensive alumni network, and a little name recognition goes a long way.

The problem is that I'm not planning on stopping with a masters -- current plans will take me all the way through to an MD ( ... )
