Oh What A Busy Few Days

Aug 16, 2009 22:23

Wednesday started with a meeting with my Masters project supervisor. All went OK, but I'm still finding it hard to get properly motivated. Rest of the day spent following up on that and preparing for the Dorkbot Hack Day. The theme is "mobile music", and that leads to Arduinos running music-generating code. Also a trip to the UWE library in search ( Read more... )

Don't forget that the batteries will seem significantly lower when you arrive than a few minutes later. You need to give them about five minutes before taking the reading. If you're taking the voltage immediately after stopping you may find the batteries appear lower than they are.

Also remember that a fully charged battery is about 13.5 Volts isn't it? And a discharged one is hovering around 11 or 11.5. that gives you a range of 34 V up to about 40 V. :)

Have you checked the water levels? It could also have been brake problems with all that downhill braking.

Nikki.

Oh, and for the record, 36.6 is still pretty good. When I had the lead acid El I was able to get it down to about 33V before I knew I was in trouble. (That would take the batteries down to 10.75V....)

Do you have pictures or even a video of the arduino and bike? Would you be interested in posting them to arduino_related? I would really enjoy seeing it in action. I've seen a few arduino music projects before but your optical music reader is a great idea! So did the optical reader control the speed of the music? or were there several readers that each played different notes from the disc?
